Join us for a special screening of Corazón: The Legacy of Community Health Workers in the Columbia Gorge of Oregon and Washington, a new documentary celebrating the people and grassroots movement that transformed community health in the Gorge.

Beginning in the 1980s with a small group of farmworker women trained as health promoters, the Gorge’s Community Health Worker movement has grown into a network of more than 150 people serving communities throughout Oregon and Washington.

Through the voices and experiences of Community Health Workers themselves, Corazón explores what happens when care is rooted in trust, shared language, lived experience, and deep connection to community. The film traces decades of innovation while highlighting the vital role CHWs continue to play in helping people navigate health care, access resources, strengthen families, and advocate for healthier and more equitable communities.

Produced by The Next Door, Inc. and directed by Michael and David Hanson, Corazón is a fully bilingual Spanish-English documentary created with Community Health Workers and allies from here in the Columbia Gorge.
